About UsWay back when, when we were a Mom & Pop business, we had one of these hokey letters in the front of our catalogue. Since then, Pop and the dog have moved to Raleigh, and one of our original customers, Tim Murray, came in out of the blue one day and now hides in the back making our frames better than ever. 
All of our moulding is handcrafted from fine hardwoods. We're like Burger King, you can "have it your way"! Choose a wood, a finish, and a profile. If you want something different than you see, just ask. If we can't make it, we probably know who does. Jesse is the chief cook and bottle washer around here - he started framing pictures in High School for his mother, artist Mary Goslen, and her artist friends. He opened his first frame shop and gallery in Winston-Salem in 1975. Fine Art Framing was born in 1988, the realization of a dream. Jesse had always dreamed of his own line of moulding. He wanted frames that simply provided a border for the artwork, a visual pause between the art and it's environment. A look that worked with contemporary art, and art photography. Simple, elegant, yet durable enough to withstand the rigors of regular travel and frequent hanging. A frame that was deep enough to accomodate glazing, space, and two or three conservation boards. Possibly even deep enough to hold objects - artistic or sentimental. 
He also couldn't find a floater frame that suited him. The first few that were on the market either weren't deep enough, or didn't have the structural integrity to support a large canvas. So he designed a floater frame that is two pieces of wood glued together. The backer stock screws securely into anything used as a stretcher bar, or provides enough wood to attach a tile or other flat artwork. The pretty wood used on the side isn't purely decorative, it adds strength and prevents warping. We combined leaf and hardwood finishes many years ago at a customer's request. We've come a long way since then, the line now includes metals, precious metals, seamless and rounded corners. We welcome your questions, comments, and suggestions.
